Founded in 2014, DePaul College Prep serves Chicago families by offering an academically rigorous, values-based, Vincentian Catholic, college-prep education to young women and men in grades 9 - 12. DePaul College Prep enjoys an academic partnership with DePaul University and is sponsored by the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentians) who also sponsor DePaul University. In July 2019, in response to growing enrollment, the DePaul College Prep Board of Directors acquired a new 17-acre campus and modern school buildings. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion supports DePaul College Prep's diverse community by working with all constituencies of the School. This work is guided by our School's Mission and Core Values. We strive to affirm identity, make culture more palpable, create brave spaces for understanding through academics, and engage the community in meaningful dialogue around equity and social justice. As a faith-based institution, we aspire to move with purpose and conviction toward the utmost level of inclusion.
Faith Formation at DePaul Prep
As a Catholic, Vincentian community, we engage in faith formation at both the student and faculty levels. Faculty are invited to participate in annual retreats as well as in professional development that helps us to grow as a community of faith. DePaul Prep welcomes faculty of all faiths and seeks to integrate knowledge and understanding of faiths other than Christianity.
Each year, DePaul Prep creates a visual depiction that tells the story of who we are as a Catholic, Vincentian high school on the north side of Chicago. In this view book, you will see the faces of our students and faculty and experience through these faces the beauty and richness of our student body and our faculty and staff as well as our 17 acre campus. Through the data shared, the colorful images of our campus and the highlights of various aspects of our community, our View Book is sure to give you a sense of what it means to be a DePaul Prep Ram.
Culture of Academic Achievement, Support & Accountability
DePaul Prep is designed to ensure students academic, social and emotional needs are met in a developmentally appropriate way. Parents and Students are educated on emotional competencies as well as the academic behaviors we strive to help our students develop during their 4 years with us.
Diverse Learner Program
At DePaul Prep, we believe every student can be successful and we carefully design support systems to ensure this. Our Diverse Learner Support program consists of unique structured study halls, case managers for all Diverse Learners, and provides one on one student support.
Teacher schedules include teaching 5 of the 80 minute block periods, and teachers have two preparation periods plus one supervision period.
Expansive Program of Co-Curriculars
Learning at DePaul Prep is not limited to the classroom! Our co-curriculars provide opportunities for students interact with peers around topics they are interested in and to design and host a range of activities within their club structure. Faculty have the opportunity to earn a stipend for fulfilling open co-curricular moderator roles based on this compensation schedule.
