New Campus. New Year. New Look.
Same great DePaul Prep.
DePaul College Prep started the 2020-2021 academic year on our new 17-acre campus after a great deal of planning, design, fundraising, construction and prayer.To match the energy of the new campus, a group of students and our design team from Moody Nolan Architects came together via Zoom to brainstorm about a new brand identity that reflects DePaul Prep’s students --intelligent, innovative, inclusive, faith-filled, athletic, creative, determined, welcoming, service-oriented, future-focused, and proudly Chicago.
Here’s what our student design group said:
Add Health -- representing both physical and emotional health -- to our existing core values of Faith, Respect, Excellence and Service to fully recognize our FRESH approach to learning and to life
Maintain our D with a cross logo but update it
Use symbols that represent the City of Chicago
Maintain the Ram as our mascot but give it a modern look
Add a pop of color to our primary school colors of navy and white
Create opportunities for color and symbols to interact playfully
Their ideas were refined by the Moody Nolan team with input from faculty and school leadership and approved by the Board of Directors on June 11, 2020.
The Primary D and Shield
Primary school logo used for uniforms, signs, written materials, with the school name
Maintains a strong and recognizable D with an embedded Cross of Faith in a new look
Color accent changes to reflect its use -- academics, athletics, clubs, service, spirit
The Academic Seal
Used on official documents, diplomas, transcripts, and in Mission and Ministry work
Centered icons represent our five core values: Faith (center), Respect (top right), Excellence (bottom right), Service (bottom left), and the addition of Health (top left)
Cross of Faith reflects Chicago's street grid pattern

Congregation of the Mission, the formal name of our religious sponsors, the Vincentian Order founded by St. Vincent de Paul
Encircled by Lake Michigan Blue and our primary Navy

Primary outline: Navy. Secondary color on the ram horn and in the eye changes to reflect how it is used for spirit icons, athletics, clubs, and others
Refreshed Colors & Typefaces
Primary: Navy and White
The DePaul Prep blue endures, carrying the spirit and traditions of the school into the future.
Secondary: Lake Michigan Blue
The iconic blue from the Chicago flag represents our City's natural treasure, Lake Michigan.
Tertiary: Chicago Star Red
The six-pointed stars celebrate the defining moments in Chicago’s history.
We refreshed our serif typeface for our academic wordmark with a modern look. This updated serif typeface boasts clean straight lines and classic curves.
Our sans-serif typeface for our athletic wordmark also has a new look, with strong strokes and active movement.

Roll-out of DePaul College Prep's new branding identity has officially begun. The process will begin with signage and banners for the new campus, a refresh of the DePaul Prep website and email messaging system, new profile icons for our social media platforms, fresh pieces in the spirit shop, and other internal needs. Class of 2024 will wear uniform shirts bearing our new brand and logos. Upperclassmen have the option to wear their current uniforms or to purchase new uniform shirts with the new brand identity. DePaul Prep athletic uniforms may still reflect our previous identity for the next school year, and spirit wear items with the previous identity are still welcomed to be worn as spirit wear and for athletic events.
