Math Teacher

DePaul College Prep is seeking to hire a full time Math teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Candidates must be certified by the state of Illinois for the 2018-2019 school year and have relevant experience in instruction of math courses.

Chemistry Teacher

DePaul College Prep is seeking to hire a full time Chemistry teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. Candidates must be certified by the state of Illinois for the 2018-2019 school year and have relevant experience in instruction of science courses.

The Science Department’s goal is to promote scientific literacy and inquiry through objective observation and hands on experimentation in the life and physical sciences.

Film Teacher

DePaul College Prep is seeking a film teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. The teacher will be responsible for teaching all film courses, and modifying curriculum that fits the academic mission and values of DePaul College Prep and the Steam Department. The teacher should be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach, reflect on, and modify curriculum for the following courses:
    • Introduction to Film Fundamentals
    • Screenwriting and Genre Study
    • Documentary Filmmaking
    • IB Film
  • Strengthen student research and writing skills through utilization of common core English standards in all media arts courses
  • Utilize DePaul College Prep’s one-to-one iPad program as a tool for screenwriting and production team planning
  • Facilitate cross curricular film projects within other departments; providing production and equipment training to other students and teachers as needed
  • Collaborate with other Steam teachers to teach the interdisciplinary course, Integrated Design, Engineering, and the Arts, which covers how filmmakers shape perspective for society
  • Maintain all camera, lighting, and sound equipment in the film studio, trouble shooting and fixing equipment when needed
  • Curate and manage the media and film archives of DePaul College Prep
  • Produce promotional video content for the admissions and advancement teams

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in film, media or other related field
  • Prior experience teaching in a secondary education setting
  • Familiarity with Final Cut Pro X or other advanced editing software
