Painting
June 8-11; June 15-18

Students will explore their creativity through different painting methods such as watercolor, acrylics, mixed media. We will work on layering, texturing and splattering while experiencing the basic principles of painting. Students will have freedom to explore various subjects (animals, flowers, other natural elements, the human face and more) while having fun and listening to music. We will create colorful memories through painting activities as we socialize with new friends and a teacher! Two separate sessions will offer the same experience.

Brushstrokes & Beyond: 2D Drawing & Painting Camp
June 22-25

Campers at this art camp will dive into the world of painting and drawing, experimenting with a variety of dynamic media! From charcoal and graphite to ink and vibrant paints, they’ll explore essential techniques and styles, unlocking their creativity and mastering new artistic skills. Whether you're sketching, shading, or splashing color, this camp is all about hands-on discovery and artistic expression!

Textural Tapestries: Fiber Arts & Creative Materials Camp
June 29 - July 2

Get ready for an immersive artistic adventure! Campers will experiment with both traditional and unconventional art materials, bringing texture and color to life in bold new ways. From weaving and embroidery to bleach painting, batik, and other exciting fiber arts, this camp invites campers to push their creativity to the limits while mastering unique techniques and creating stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces!

Sculpt & Shape: 3D Art Exploration Camp
July 6-9

Unleash your creativity in this hands-on, week-long 3D art camp! Campers will dive into the exciting world of sculpture, building, and design using a variety of materials like clay, wire, paper mâché, and more. From creating intricate sculptures to exploring innovative ways to shape and mold, this camp is all about bringing your wildest ideas to life in three dimensions. Whether you’re a beginner or a budding artist, you'll leave with amazing, one-of-a-kind creations and a new appreciation for 3D art!

Creative Writing
June 15-18; June 22-25
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

At this camp, middle school students will discover and/or further develop their interests and skills in writing creatively, be it in fiction, nonfiction, or poetry genres. In addition to reading a variety of creative works to supplement the variety of creative endeavors they will embark on over the course of the week, they will learn about and practice writing poetry, creative nonfiction, and short stories. Each day will include dedicated time for developing a project of the student's choice, such as a short story, memoir piece, or small collection of poems. Each session offers the same experience. 

Culinary Camp
July 6-9
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Campers will cook and bake their way through the week using local ingredients and, when available, ingredients from the DePaul Prep garden. This is a hands-on class, so get ready to roll up your sleeves and get cooking. Please note that this camp is not gluten-free. No nuts will be used. Dairy allergies can be accommodated.

Dance Intensive — 7th & 8th graders only
June 15-18
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Campers will explore various dance genres through technique, improvisation games, and learning fun combinations! Get the blood flowing through creative movement in jazz, lyrical, modern/contemporary, and musical theatre that they can show their friends and families. Come join dance exploration in a learning environment that encourages movement as an outlet for emotional expression and learning. Dress Code: Properly fitting clothing, meaning no overly exposing or excessively baggy clothing. Students will need socks and jazz shoes (if already purchased).

Film Production
June 22-25; June 29 - July 2
9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Campers participating in this camp will learn about filmmaking fundamentals, camera work, storytelling, editing, and more. Camp will focus on live-action techniques, in which the students will collaborate to write, perform and produce several short films. Two separate sessions will offer the same experience.

Musical Theatre Lab
June 8-11
9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Campers in Musical Theater Lab will work with DePaul Prep’s vocal music and theater directors to produce selected scenes and songs from a classic American musical. Each day will focus on two of the three components of what it takes to be a “triple threat:” singing and acting techniques. At the end of the week, campers will perform their prepared scenes in DePaul Prep’s Black Box Theater in a concert-style showcase. Family and friends will be welcome to attend.

Young Entrepreneurs
June 15-18; June 22-25; June 29 - July 2

The Youth Entrepreneurship Camp for middle schoolers is an engaging and interactive program designed to inspire young minds with the fundamentals of business and entrepreneurship. Through hands-on simulations, real-world activities, and expert guidance, students learn essential business strategies and develop skills like creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership in a fun and supportive environment. This camp aims to ignite a passion for innovation and empower the next generation of entrepreneurs. Three separate sessions will offer the same experience.
