The Marty Collins Scholarship was established in memory of Marty Collins, a board member, friend and champion of the DePaul College Prep community. Serving on the board of directors for 8 years, Marty worked tirelessly to help build the vision and the foundation for DePaul College Prep - a strong, Vincentian Catholic high school option for Chicago families. Marty promoted DePaul Prep at every chance and was a big believer in the impact that DePaul Prep would have as a vibrant community anchor on the northside. Marty enjoyed following the sports teams each season and loved supporting the athletics and co-curricular programs. 

Marty’s family established this scholarship in his memory and to honor his legacy and his passion for DePaul College Prep.

The Marty Collins Scholarship will be awarded to rising sophomores who demonstrate financial need, work hard in the classroom, and have a strong desire to receive a Catholic education. The students should represent the core values of Faith, Respect, Excellence, Service and Health and be a thriving contributor to the DePaul Prep community.

Today, he continues to exemplify excellence as Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach and Director of Admissions for DePaul College Prep. The Howard F. Infante Endowed Scholarship will be established in memory of Howie Infante, Gordon Tech Class of 1983, who passed away in 2019. Howie distinguished himself as a student athlete for the Gordon Tech Rams and was the 1982 football captain of the Prep Bowl championship team. Howie received a full scholarship to play linebacker on Northern Illinois University's football team and was a proud 1987 alum. He was a dedicated and lifelong member of the St. Margaret Mary Parish and a Big Red football coach for hundreds of northside kids for over 30 years. Howie is survived by his wife Sheila, his mother Marilyn, family and many friends.

The Bryan and Mary Durkin Endowed Scholarship provides financial assistance to DePaul Prep students who qualify for need-based financial aid, are in good academic standing and represent the diversity of Chicago.

The Elzinga Family Endowed Scholarship is for students who have diagnosed learning differences and a demonstrated need for tuition assistance at DePaul College Prep. Easing the burden of tuition cost, recipients of the Elzinga Family Endowed Scholarship will have the opportunity to develop their unique strengths and talents, learn positive coping strategies, and flourish in the school’s inclusive environment, which nurtures academic and personal growth.

The Theodore and Isabel Tsoumas Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to DePaul Prep students who qualify for need-based financial aid, are in good academic standing and represent the diversity of Chicago.

Monsignor Jack Egan was a priest in the Archdiocese of Chicago for almost sixty years during some of the most challenging times for the City of Chicago and the Catholic Church.  Monsignor Egan was committed to social justice and spent the majority of his career serving those on the margins of society. Candidates may apply for the Service Scholarship in the Spring of their freshman year.  Once awarded, students that remain in good academic standing and continue to meet service requirements will receive the award for the duration of their time at DePaul College Prep.
