Art Club offers a creative space for students of all grade levels and art skills. Each month, students are invited to create a specific project with a choice of their own subject. The projects range from drawing, mixed media, painting, to non-traditional art materials.

Baking club is an opportunity for students to learn new skills in the kitchen or advance what they already know to make delicious treats. Students will work on all aspects of baking; following the recipe, baking off the dish, cleaning up, and the best part tasting what they have made. No experience is needed - just a willingness to jump in and help! Baking club meets once a month and active participation at meetings is expected.

The "Big Sister Little Sister" club is an amazing opportunity where we pair up underclassmen with upperclassmen to provide mentorship and encouragement for young girls throughout their high school journey. Together, we create a supportive and empowering community that helps girls thrive and succeed at DePaul Prep.

Climbing Club is a great way to try something new or find friends who like to climb. We meet once a month for active climbing at First Ascent Climbing and Fitness Avondale after school. All students participating need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian and the fee is $15 each time to climb. The fee is paid at the climbing gym. No experience necessary. Come join the fun!

The Dungeons & Dragons Club offers students the chance to play Dungeons & Dragons in school in organized play, and explore the global community D&D has formed! Recently made more popular as a result of its appearance in the TV show "Stranger Things," Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing game that is played at a table -- with pen, paper, and different kinds of dice -- rather than on a computer. Players act out their character's roles (such as a warrior or wizard) in adventures created by a student leader (the "Dungeon Master") in what amounts to shared story-telling. The game promotes social engagement, imagination, and self-confidence. The club meets after school in room 195 and continues after school, typically with 1-3 games of 4-5 adventurers.

Dance Showcase is a club for students who dance outside of DePaul Prep to come together and share their talent and creativity. The first couple weeks will consist of technique class followed by discussion where we go over how to choreograph a dance and what the requirements would be to submit a piece along with rehearsal time. After submissions and selected choreographers, the choreographers will cast their dances and begin to set their piece. From there, dancers will rehearse and clean dances until the Spring Dance Showcase. There will be a finale piece where all dancers are involved. In addition, there will be an assembly performance with separate choreography which is mandatory and a possible performance at a nursing home which would also go towards service hours.

DPac is an unaccompanied, co-curricular vocal ensemble in which students learn proper vocal technique, develop musicianship, and have fun while singing a blend of contemporary/popular music and more traditional repertoire. DPaC performs at a variety of school functions. No experience is needed, but regular attendance is required.

The DePaul Prep Drumline is a co-curricular performing group that works to perform for school pep rallies and athletic events. Prior percussion experience is encouraged, but not required. The goal of this group is to develop percussion technique, strengthen music literacy, and encourage composition.

French Culture Club seeks students of all language backgrounds to celebrate and discover the foods, cultures and customs of the Francophone world. If you’re looking to connect with globally curious students, and/or enjoy trying new foods, this is a club for you!

Greek Club offers students of all backgrounds an environment where students can come together to learn about Greek history, culture, and heritage through education and events. We meet once a month and learn about the Greek culture through movies, dancing, eating, and more!

History club offers students an opportunity to explore historical topics beyond the textbook.  Through discussions, guest speakers, multimedia, gaming, and field trips, members can dive deeper into the topics that most interest them.  Members also exercise their knowledge to provide service to both the DePaul Prep and wider community.

DePaul College Prep Ignite is a club aligning with the national nonprofit, Ignite, which works with young women to grow their political knowledge and involve them in local democracy and government. We will host political guest speakers and fun events to learn more about the democratic process in Chicago!”

The International Club will explore the variety of cultures in the world and among our student body. We’ll come together to learn important historical events and movements, watch international films and play cultural music. Together we’ll enjoy traditionally authentic games, try diverse foods, and work on art projects that pertain to each country. The Latin Music Ensemble is comprised of musicians or aspiring musicians who enjoy playing and performing popular Latin music. We welcome anyone who is interested in Latino music and culture. We intend to perform at school functions, such as the Hispanic Heritage assembly!

Money Matters participants will explore a variety of money-related topics such as beginning investing, saving for college and more! Our goal is to make students more financially literate. Participants will hear from a variety of guest speakers and will also participate in Money Smart Week activities.

The Pack Chat Sports Club is a club dedicated to the love, commitment, and passion that DePaul College Prep students and staff possess in being fans of sport and debating sports. The Pack Chat Sports Club participates in seasonal play, meeting once a week, to make predictions, debate, and discuss professional/amateur sports. These sessions provide students with opportunities to earn points throughout the season with the goal of competing in the school-wide championship at the spring sports pep rally. This club is outstanding for students pursuing careers in sports, sports management, or sportscasting.

DePaul Prep’s student newspaper, the RamPage, covers stories on people and events on our campus and topics affecting our school community. Student journalists drive our entire process — from conceptualizing story ideas, to conducting interviews and research, to writing and editing. Cup of Joe is a student produced television network that films on campus at DePaul College Prep. Students meet multiple times throughout the week to plan, write, record, and edit TV style content which covers everything under the sun from important newscast bulletins game show/sketch videos, and even episodic sitcoms!

The Yearbook Club creates the school yearbook that is published and distributed to every student each November. Students in yearbook plan the theme and cover, design the pages, and choose the photos to include. Most work is done independently or in small groups. The most committed club members are asked to take on leadership roles within the club. This is a great club for students interested in design, art, photography, and writing.

Asian American Pacific Islander Club provides a space for all AAPI students and allies to freely share their experiences. We meet in alliance (open to everyone) and affinity (only for those who identify as AAPI) spaces to meet everyone's needs. Our mission is to give AAPI students visibility and voice, celebrate our brilliance and beauty, and to educate others about issues impacting the AAPI community. We stand in solidarity and partnership with other DCP affinity and alliance organizations by actively opposing all forms of discrimination and providing opportunities to celebrate our differences.

The Black Student Union (BSU) centers and celebrates Black voices and culture, creates a space for dialogue about issues facing
the Black community, and promotes student agency and activism. Through weekly meetings, events and more, the BSU is a safe space for Black students and Allies to spend time together, create change, and celebrate the diverse and rich cultures at the School."

Identity Club at DePaul Prep creates valiant spaces for discussing, celebrating, and supporting the intersectionality of identities, particularly those of the LGBTQIA+ community. The club meets regularly for community building opportunities that include movies, crafts, fundraising, and food!

The Jewish Club is open to all students who want to learn about Jewish culture and religion.  It was created to build connections between students of Jewish faith and those of all other faiths. We provide a safe place to discuss issues and topics of specific relevance to the Jewish faith.  We also learn about and celebrate Jewish holidays, foods, and games!

Mind the Cap provides a stigma-free space for students to share their voices and raise awareness around mental health. We achieve this through practicing mindfulness techniques, hosting discussions, and engaging in outside partnerships, all while creating a culture of support within the community we share.

The purpose of Latinos Unidos is to foster interest in the Hispanic/Latino culture and to learn more about the Spanish-speaking world. This is a space where ALL are welcome. We support each other, celebrate our cultural differences, and create new memories and traditions.

Student Government is the elected governing body of DePaul Prep which provides leadership of student activities and coordination of various campus events throughout the year. These student-leaders act as the voice of the DePaul Prep students,  meeting regularly with the President and Principal on school-wide initiatives. Student Government includes the President/Vice President, Grade-Level Class Representatives, and a general council of volunteer members.

Young Women's Leadership Club is a student driven club. The members of the club develop leaderships skills while planning service events & celebrations of women in history. This club also provides a safe space for student address any issues young women are facing in their lives.

National Art Honor Society is a national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the arts. NAHS gives students opportunities to explore various types of art making as well as create a personal portfolio for the end of the year art show. Students also participate in art based school and community service projects.

French Honor Society is an academic honorary organization that represents upper level students who demonstrate their passion for French language and culture. Students are actively involved in organizing cultural events, peer tutoring, and various service projects within the community. Société Honoraire de Français values leadership, service, and dedication to French language culture. Candidates must meet high academic criteria in French and be in good standing throughout their high school career.

Mu Alpha Theta is a National Honor Society organization whose purpose is the promotion of scholarship in, enjoyment, and understanding of, mathematics among high school and two-year college students. Candidates must meet high academic criteria in Mathematics and be in good standing throughout their high school career.

全美中文荣誉学会 (The National Chinese Honor Society) was established in 1993 to recognize those accomplished high school students who study Chinese as a world language. The National Chinese Honor Society is a scholastic organization that promotes and recognizes students who demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and community service.  The purpose of the National Chinese Honor Society is to encourage its members to become life-long learners in order to gain a better understanding of Chinese language and culture, as well as to play an active role as a contributing global citizen in the twenty-first century.

National Honor Society recognizes outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. Juniors and seniors are able to apply in fall. Membership is maintained by having a cumulative, weighted GPA of 3.9 or higher and meeting the minimum service requirement of 20 hours.

Membership in Science National Honors Society (SNHS) recognizes and celebrates students who have excelled in the field of science. Membership supports high school juniors and seniors in pursuing interest in science, promotes academic excellence, and motivates these students to strive for success in their scientific pursuits. Rho Kappa is an honor society whose mission and purpose is to recognize academic excellence in social studies; to provide opportunities for exploration in the social studies; and to encourage interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the social studies.

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish Honor Society) is an academic honorary organization that represents juniors and seniors who demonstrate their passion for Spanish language and culture. Candidates must meet high academic criteria in Spanish and be in good standing throughout their high school career.

Chess Team practices the skills and strategies of chess both in friendly and competitive play. Students meet weekly after school all year to engage in friendly and competitive play and hone their chess skills. In the fall and winter, the team takes its game to a competitive level in the Chicago Chess Conference, where it competes against some of the state's top chess teams. During the conference season from October to January, the team plays weekly matches against conference opponents on Tuesday (both at home and away), in addition to several all-day Saturday tournaments. The chess team also competes in the IHSA State Chess Series from January and February, including sectional and state level competitions.

The Debate Team at DePaul College Prep is a great way to gain valuable skills for college and professional life, while having fun, meeting new people, and of course debating! Students meet once a week to work on argument writing, character development, researching current events/issues and learning to speak in a confident and eloquent way. Students participate in mock congressional sessions during each tournament in which they use their research to debate the passage of student written legislation on current pressing topics. The team competes in the Chicago Catholic Forensics League.

The DePaul Prep Esports Team competes in various competitive video games with both peers as well as other high school students across Illinois and the Midwest. Seasons for eSports take place in both Fall and Spring semesters. Like seasons of other sports, this consists of regularly scheduled games with win-loss records, all culminating in playoff brackets for each league. The fundamental skills that eSports strives to help students improve upon include purposeful self-improvement, critical thinking, and communication.

Want to get ready for what comes next, than LifeSmarts is the team for you. LifeSmarts is a quiz bowl style event that focuses on information that you will need to know now and as you move through the next adventures of life. The quizzes cover: consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, health and safety, personal finance, and technology. You were learn what goes into buying a car or renting an apartment, what to do if a product does not deliver what it promises.  The team meets weekly to get ready for online quizzes and a chance to compete in person at state and national competitions.

The Mock Trial Team introduces students to the American legal system, while studying and exploring how a legal case proceeds from the pretrial phase through trial. Mock Trial meets in the fall to recruit and plan events. During the winter and spring, the team meets at least twice a week to prepare for several regional mock trial competitions. During these competitions, students perform as lawyers and witnesses. A presiding judge and a jury of licensed judges and attorneys judge each round. Leading up to the competition, the students work together to write and practice opening statements, direct and cross-examination questions and testimony, and closing arguments. They learn to use exhibits and evidence at trial. The season ends with the team competing in Springfield over two days in the Illinois State Bar Association State Invitational.

DePaul College Prep Model United Nations empowers students to take global issues into their own hands. Through collaboration, research, and diplomatic procedure, Model UN asks students to learn about the problems facing the international community, propose solutions, and support their own imagined iniatives to solve these problems. Students are encouraged to promote compromise and communication at conferences throughout the year where their position papers and resolution papers are used to implement change.

The Robotics Team provides students a space to delve deep into the world of robotics and gain experience programming and building robots. We will be competing in the first Robotics Tech Challenge, learning how to work together as a team while competing with gracious professionalism. No prior experience required! All are welcome!

Scholastic Bowl is an IHSA sanctioned team academic competition that tests teamwork, quick recall ability and students' knowledge in social sciences, math, science, language arts, literature and fine arts. DePaul Preps team competes in league independent and IHSA tournaments.

The Speech Team at DePaul College Prep is an IHSA competitive activity.  There are fourteen competitive events open to our school's speech team ranging from acting, radio speaking, and original comedy to persuasive and informative speaking.  Students audition for the team in September, and the regular season runs through early February.  Working with a team of experienced coaches, students will write or select speeches to compete against other schools; practice performing prepared pieces; and gain confidence speaking in front of others.  No experience is necessary, and anyone who is interested may participate!
